As Winter Vinecki ran across the finish line with one hand in the air pointing to the sky, she was overwhelmed with emotion, but only one person came to mind: her father, Michael.

On Sunday in Athens, Greece, the 14-year-old super athlete and Salem resident completed her seventh marathon to set a world record and become the youngest person, male or female, to complete a marathon on every continent, finishing the race to the Olympic Stadium in four hours, three minutes and 53 seconds.

“This is for you, Dad,” she exclaimed after completing the race and thanking those who’d helped her get to this point.
